One2One is owned and operated by myself, Anthony Duhamel Jr.

I have a passion for learning and teaching others how to learn, and I greatly enjoy the work that I do. I am hopelessly addicted to seeing that proverbial light bulb appear above a student's head, that "Aha!" moment of realization when everything clicks for the first time. To know that I play some small part in that moment over and over is a great source of joy in my life.

It is my goal to reach every student on an intensely individual level. I believe that everybody's individual learning style is as unique as their fingerprint, and the secret to tapping into a student's true potential is deceptively simple and really no secret at all.  It comes down to investing one-one-one time with them and getting to know them as a person, as a human being. Too often children are herded into large pens and labeled with a very broad brush, and I believe that it takes a more incisive approach to get to real understanding.  

I have enjoyed working in the tutoring industry for nearly 15 years. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Minor in Education from CSU San Diego, I went to work for a national after-school education company. I was lucky enough to join this company when they were on the verge of major growth, and I was able to operate in many different positions over the years. I spent time as an Instructor, Head Instructor, Center Director, Franchise Trainer, and eventually Director of Franchise Support and Training for the continental United States. I even had the amazing opportunity to write and publish a book about my experience in the industry, which is still required reading for all Franchise Trainees across the organization.

As much as I learned working at the Corporate level, I realized that my true passion was teaching students rather than supporting business owners, and I decided to fly solo and open my own service in 2013. One2One Home Tutoring was born!  Since then, I have been able to work with so many inspiring families, and I owe much of the growth of the service to their testimonies. Without the help and support of the families that I work with, One2One would not be what it is today.
